CONN-OSHA’S ALTERNATIVE APPROACH TO SITE-SPECIFIC TARGETING PLAN – 2016
December 12, 2016

Step One: Utilize Injury Tracking Application (ITA) Electronic Submissions to obtain injury/illness data.

Step Two: Review ITA Submission data to determine high industry rates.

Step Three: Establish a separate threshold DART rate for each high-rate industry.

Step Four: Establish an Inspection List based upon the data obtained in Steps One, Two, and Three.

Step Five: Place entities on the Inspection List for the scheduling of a health and/or safety inspection, unless:

  • The establishment has requested a consultation visit. Inspection for this entity may then be deferred pending the consultation visit; or

  • The establishment has received a comprehensive safety inspection within thirty-six months of the creation of the List.
