- Designed to ease the impact of layoffs and to assure that workers are
offered a full range of benefits and services.
Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) -
Administers Connecticut's Public Employer Only State Plan, enforces state
occupational safety and health regulations as they apply to all state and
municipal employees, and offers consulting services at no charge to any
employer.
Shared Work Program - As
alternate to layoffs: select group of workers to share reduced hours &
collect partial benefits.
Step
Up- Provides wage and training subsidies
to employers that hire an unemployed jobseeker.
Trade Adjustment Assistance -
Employer subsidy for wages paid to certified Trade Adjustment Assistance
workers.
Welfare-To-Work
- Department of Labor program with links to business related services and
information.
Individual Development Account (IDA) Program
- matched savings accounts in which low-income individuals and families
accumulate funds that can be used for one of several allowable assets.
Migrant and Seasonal Farm Workers
Program (MSFW) - Program to assure that migrant and seasonal farm
workers receive the same level of Job Center services as non-migrant and
seasonal farm workers.
