DIRECT DEPOSIT OR DEBIT CARD? YOU CHOOSE!
Direct Deposit

We encourage claimants to opt for either the direct deposit or debit card payment methods that are approved by the State of Connecticut and the Labor Department.  We are not associated or affiliated with check cashing services, or any pre-paid debit card services.

  • Direct Deposit is safer.
  • Direct Deposit is free. There is no fee for using the electronic transfer system.

If you do not already have a checking or savings account and need to open one to use the Direct Deposit payment method, a list of Connecticut bank and credit union locations can be found at the Department of Banking Internet site. Several Connecticut banks and credit unions may offer no-cost checking.

To sign up for Direct Deposit, you must enroll online. You CANNOT sign up for Direct Deposit by phone. For more specific information regarding Direct Deposit, click on FAQ’s.

Please note: Consumer Contact Center representatives cannot sign up claimants for Direct Deposit. Claimants must sign up for Direct Deposit in ReEmployCT under Benefits Maintenance - Update Claimant Profile - Payment Options.
