Career Express to Visit DOL’s Job Fair,
Make Stops at Local Schools

WETHERSFIELD, Connecticut Department of Labor
employees on board the agency’s Career Express will participate in the
agency’s final spring Connecticut Career fair and visit area schools during the
second half of June. Stops on the Career Express schedule include the
June 17: Visitors can discuss their employment and training needs with
Labor Department employees on board the Career Express and receive
assistance with online job searches during the vehicle’s noon to 2 p.m. stop at
the agency’s final spring Connecticut Career Fair. The event, being held at the
Crowne Plaza, 100 Berlin Road in Cromwell, will run from noon to 4 p.m.
June 17: Career Express staff will provide visitors with Internet
job searches and assist them with online applications during a June Job Festival
sponsored by the New Haven Register at the North Haven Holiday Inn from 3
to 5 p.m.
June 17: Career Express staff will conduct a job search and
interviewing workshop for graduating students during a 6 to 7:30 p.m. visit to
the Porter and Chester Institute’s Branford campus, 221 West Main Street in
June 18: Career Express staff will conduct a job search assistance
workshop from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Open Hearth shelter on Sheldon Street in
June 25: Connecticut Department of Labor employees on board the
Career Express will conduct job search and interviewing workshops and
provide an overview of DOL services during a 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. visit the Hartford
Job Corps Academy, 100 William Shorty Campbell Drive.
June 27: Connecticut Department of Labor employees on board the Career
Express will assist former Quebecor World Northeast Graphics Inc. employees
with filing online unemployment claims during a 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. visit to the
company’s North Haven headquarters at 291 State Street.
