Labor Department’s Career Express Staff To Conduct
Résumé Workshops, Recruitments

WETHERSFIELD, Connecticut Department of Labor employees aboard the agency’s
Career Express will conduct Internet job search workshops, present résumé
seminars and assist local businesses with recruitment needs during the month of
May. Visits scheduled for the Career Express include the following stops.
Connecticut Department of Labor employees aboard the Career Express will
conduct an Internet Job Search workshop from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for students at
Goodwin Technical School located at 735 Slater Road, New Britain.
The Career Express will participate in a Career Day from 4 to 7 p.m. at
the Fair Haven Library located at 182 Grand Avenue in New Haven.
An Internet job search and career exploration workshop using the Job and
Career Connection electronic career site will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
at Griswold High School, 267 Slater Road.
From 3 to 6 p.m. Career Express staff will participate in the Marakech 3rd
Annual Community Fair. Marakech’s offices are located at 526 Whalley Avenue, New

being held 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at West Side Middle School, 250 Brandegee Avenue,
Career Express staff will take part in Career Day activities designed for
regional high school students, which will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at ACES
Whitney High School North. Subjects covered include introduction to the Labor
Department’s One-Stop career services, job search and placement resources, and
how to use the Education and Training Connection Internet site. ACES
Whitney High School North is located at 205 Skiff Street in Hamden.
Connecticut Department of Labor employees on board the Career Express
will conduct résumé workshops for graduating students during this two-day event
Technical High School in Ansonia. Workshops will be held 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. both
days at the school, which is located at 141 Prindle Avenue.
Career Express staff will assist with an employee recruitment day at the
Waterbury Applebee’s Restaurant located at 973 Wolcott Street.
The Career Express will be on-site for the 14th Annual
Conference on Serving Youth and Adults with Learning Disabilities being held at
the Farmington Marriott, 15 Farm Springs Road. Staff will conduct
presentations about services provided by the Labor Department.
Employees on the Career Express will conduct résumé workshops for
Hartford Adult Education graduating students from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Hartford Adult Education is located at 245 Locust Street, Hartford.
The Career Express is a mobile career center developed by the
Connecticut Department of Labor to provide the latest workforce and job skills
development services to job seekers, workers, students and employers. It is
equipped with eight computer workstations with high-speed Internet access and
the latest audio-visual systems including a plasma TV with SMARTBoard
