SUBJECT: PY 2004 Draft Allocations

America's Workforce Network

Background:  We have received Connecticut’s WIA allotment for the 2004 program year and have developed draft allocations for each workforce investment area.

Policy:  Attached are the PY 04 WIA draft allotments for the adult, dislocated worker, and youth funding streams.  The allocations are considered draft until the formulas used for the allocations are approved by the CETC.  We expect this will occur during May 2004.  The allocation methodology used for PY 04 incorporated the use of the 2000 census data for the first time in the adult and youth formulas.

We are advising that you utilize these allocations in your planning for the 2004 program year.  We will notify you as soon as the CETC takes formal action on the approval of the formulas used.

Any questions can be directed to Stephen Litke at (860) 263-6599.
