SUBJECT: MIS Conversion from WIA IBM to CT Works Business System (CTWBS)

America's Workforce Network

Background  The CTWBS will become the official WIA case management and reporting system July 1, 2003.  While a great deal of work and training need to be completed before then, we expect the system will be ready on time.  Towards this end, a decision has been made about the closing of the current WIA IBM system and allowing its usage for the finalization of PY 2002 data.

Policy  The WIA IBM system will close on Wednesday, June 25, 2003 at 4:30 p.m. so that all data in the WIA IBM system from the inception of WIA through June 25, 2003 can be loaded into the new CTWBS.  The new CTWBS will open for data entry on July 1, 2003.  All information on WIA that had not been entered into the old IBM system must then be entered into the CTWBS. Additionally, to ensure the completion of PY 2002 reports (July 1, 2002 through June 30, 2003), we are requesting that Boards also continue to enter the same WIA client information through June 30, 2003 into the old IBM system, which will reopen June 30, 2003. The IBM system will be closed completely August 1, 2003.

We are requesting that you carefully review your monthly reports to ensure data entered into the IBM system is complete and accurate  We will, as necessary, provide you with any further reports on data errors that we identify for corrections.

Any questions on WIA IBM input can also be directed to Mary Ziomek at (860) 263-6596 or Steve Litke at (860) 263-6599.
