SUBJECT: Recording Non-Registerable WIA IB Core Services in the Statewide IBM System

America's Workforce Network

Some areas have expressed a need to record regular WIA IB-funded core activities that actually occur before WIA IB registration.

In order to record core activities that occur before registration, there have been some changes made to the IBM system.

To record a non-registerable core activity, use the following contract number and the appropriate activity code listed in your "WIA ON IBM USER MANUAL".

LOCAL WIB Non-Registerable Core Activities Contract Number
Bridgeport  112801
Mid-Connecticut  112802
Danbury/Torrington  112803
Danielson/Windham  112804
Hartford  112805
New Haven  112807
New London  112808
Waterbury  112809

For Example:

A participant is registered under Bridgeport's local policy only once they receive an Intensive Service such as "needs assessment".  "Joe Smith" receives that intensive service on October 13, 2000.  Therefore, Joe has been registered on October 13 and has an intensive service recorded on that date.  Now, the pre-registration core service can be recorded using the appropriate activity code received under contract number 112801, WIB 01.

Once again, this procedure should only be used to record non-registerable or pre-registration core activities.

If you have any questions or concerns, please call Cindy Cyr or Stephen Litke at (860) 263-6590.
