MEMO: AP 00-21 Change 2

Last Updated: November 15, 2016

DATE: August 22, 2001

TO: WIB Directors; WIB Chairpersons; Grant Recipients

FROM: Lorna Joseph, Director of Program Support

SUBJECT: Change in Documentation Requirement for Youth Committed to the Department of Children and Families

America's Workforce Network

Background: It has come to our attention that some youth who are committed to the Department of Children and Families as delinquent may not be able to provide the documentation necessary to meet the general eligibility requirements of the Workforce Investment Act.  While we would prefer that potential registrants meet those requirements listed in AP 00-21 and Change 1, we believe an alternative method is proper in this case.

Policy: All youth committed to the Department of Children and Families as delinquent can have their general and youth eligibility for WIA documented through a letter signed by their parole officer.

Questions on this policy can be directed to Cindy Cyr or Stephen Litke at (860) 263-6590.
