MEMO: AP 00-02

Last Updated: November 15, 2016

DATE: June 5, 2000

TO: RWDB Directors; RWDB Chairpersons; Grant Recipients

FROM: Lorna Joseph, Acting Director of Operational Support

SUBJECT: PY 2000 WIA Contract Package

Background: On May 5, 2000 all Workforce Investment Boards were e-mailed a copy of the WIA contract package to be used to access PY 2000 WIA funding. This issuance is to officially provide the final version of that contract package and to provide you with additional information concerning the submittal of the contract.

Policy: Please find as Attachment 1, the final PY 2000 DOL WIA Contract Package. To assist you in completing this package, we have included specific instructions for completing the face sheet. We have also removed page 7 of the contract package e-mailed to you on May 5, 2000. That page addressed JTPA funds transferred to WIA, and since we have decided to develop a separate contract for those funds, which will be issued shortly, it is no longer included in this package. All grant recipients and administrators should carefully review pages 2-4 of this contract which contains the necessary administrative rules contained in the Workforce Investment Act. These provisions will only be issued separately if we believe there is a need for further technical assistance or guidance than is provided in the WIA Act or Regulations.

Please submit three originally signed copies of this contract to Pat Mayfield, Program Manager, Monitoring Unit, 200 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield, CT 06109. We are requesting that these contracts be submitted by June 23, 2000 so that processing of the grants can be done in a timely manner. If your area has not completed your chief elected officials agreement designating the grant recipient, the official approval of your contract will be delayed until that agreement is in place.

If you have any questions on this issuance, please contact your WIA designated liaison.
