Connecticutís Workforce

Last Updated: March 19, 2014

The Connecticut Department of Laborís Office of Research, in partnership with the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, regularly prepares data on the stateís resident workforce. Monthly updates of these statistics show the total workforce, number of persons employed, number of persons unemployed, and unemployment rate. These data, collectively known as labor force statistics, are compiled in five geographic contexts: state, labor market areas, county, SDA, and municipality. Statistics displayed on the map are annual average data for 1998.

The following mapódivided into SDA regions--shows employment rates, that is percentage of the resident workforce that is employed, in Connecticutís cities and towns in five ranges. The mapís legend shows each percentage range of employment rates followed by the number of municipalities within that range. The pages following the map show individual city and town workforce populations and employment rates.
