Unemployment Benefits On-Line Job Seekers Employers Labor Market Information Directions/Office Information

The Job-Driven National Emergency Grant (JD NEG), awarded to the Connecticut Department of Labor, is a new grant opportunity for Dislocated Workers and their hiring employers.  The JD NEG Program focuses on job-driven strategies that provide Dislocated Workers with opportunities to participate in occupational and work-based training in high-demand occupations.

Work-based training means the job seeker is hired into full time employment and receives On-the-Job Training (OJT) from their new employer.

The employer, in turn, receives wage reimbursement subsidies (up to certain limits) during the new employee’s training period to help cover the extraordinary costs of training.  Funding is made possible through a grant from the U.S. Department of Labor.
