CONNECTICUT TAP - The Connecticut Transition Assistance Program is a highly successful two-day program provided to separating military members and their spouses/significant others. The seminars take place twice per month, and provide information on a variety of topics designed to ease the transition from the military to civilian life.

How Do I Sign Up To Attend the TAP Program? - The Fleet and Family Support Center (FFSC) at the Submarine Base in Groton only keeps schedules for about one or two months into the future at the most.

Directions to the TAP Program at the Submarine Base in Groton, CT
To get to the Submarine Base, follow the directions that apply to you below, which will put you on Rt. 12 North in Groton. Once you are on Rt. 12 in Groton, follow it for 6 Stoplights, until you get to where three direction arrows are suspended above the roadway. At that intersection you want to be in the LEFT LANE (you will see the large Dolphins sign on your left, across the intersection). TURN LEFT onto Crystal lake Road. The Main Gate entrance is almost to the end of Crystal Lake Road. Just before the Main Gate, there is a small parking lot with a small building in it. This is where you will stop to get a pass to get on the base, unless your vehicle is already authorized to be on the base.

From New York, New Haven, & Old Saybrook - Take I-95 North to Exit 86 (Just over the Gold Star Bridge from New London to Groton). As you go over the Gold Star Bridge, get into the LEFT LANE, and take the LEFT EXIT. Once in the exit, stay in the Right Lane and take the exit for Rt. 12 / Submarine Base. At the end of the exit, turn Right onto Rt. 12 North. Then, follow the directions at the beginning of this section.

From Enfield, Windsor, or Hartford - Take I-91 South to Rt. 9 South. Take Rt. 9 South to I-95 North in Old Saybrook. Take I-95 North to Exit 86 (Just over the Gold Star Bridge from New London to Groton). As you go over the Gold Star Bridge, get into the LEFT LANE, and take the LEFT EXIT. Once in the exit, stay in the Right Lane and take the exit for Rt. 12 / Submarine Base. At the end of the exit, turn Right onto Rt. 12 North. Then, follow the directions at the beginning of this section.

From Providence, Pawcatuck, or Mystic - Take I-95 South to Exit 87, which is the Rt. 12 / Submarine Base exit. At the end of the exit, turn Right onto Rt. 12 North. Then, follow the directions at the beginning of this section.
