What payment methods are available with the Department of Labor?
The 3 methods of payment that are acceptable by the Department of Labor are the ACH Credit Payment option, electronic
funds transfer (ACH Debit) and paper check.
ACH (Automated Clearinghouse) Credit Payment
The ACH (Automated Clearinghouse) Credit Payment
Option, in which employers pay Connecticut Unemployment
Insurance Tax or Reimbursable payments, is available only to
employers with 250 or more employees and/or Payroll Agents that
file for 250 or more employees, in aggregate. It requires you
to send your bank a NACHA CCD+ TXP formatted file. If you
are interested in using the ACH Credit Payment method, you must
complete the registration form found at
successful submission and acceptance of the registration form,
you will be emailed the information and instructions necessary
to utilize this payment method. If you have any questions

Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)
All employers can pay
balances via our EFT application. The website begins at http://www.ctdol.state.ct.us/uitax/LogInIntro.htm. You will need your
UserID and password to enter this site. (If you have have not created your
UserID and password, please go to
http://www.ctdol.state.ct.us/uitax/LogInIntro.htm). As stated above, this is an ACH
Debit transaction. No credit payment can be made.
Although the Department of Labor would
prefer to receive your payments via the EFT process described above, any
employer has the option to pay any balance, current or delinquent, by paper
check. The check should be made out to “Administrator, Unemployment
Compensation”. When paying your quarterly unemployment taxes, your payment
must be attached to one of the following forms:

When paying delinquent balances, please
attach the payment to your Statement of Account (Form UC-11). In all cases,
please write your Employer Registration Number on your check.
