What is
File Transfer Protocol (FTP)?
File Transfer Protocol (FTP) reporting
option is a method to file quarterly tax and wage information by uploading an
acceptable electronic file over the internet (for magnetic specifications
see
http://www.ctdol.state.ct.us/uitax/magnetic.htm). The transfer of the file
is secured using 128 bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption.
Unlike the Connecticut Internet Tax and Wage
System (CITWS), FTP can be used at any time to file any quarterly
information (current or delinquent). Also unique to the FTP filing, you will
receive an email evidencing our receipt of your file. If you are currently
filing another form of magnetic Media, the file format for FTP is identical to
files you are currently submitting. If you currently file your quarterly
information using cartridges or diskettes, and would like to register for FTP,
please complete the registration form at
http://www.ctdol.state.ct.us/uitax/ftp_form1.htm.
If you are currently filing on paper forms, you
can file your quarterly tax and wage information using the
Connecticut Internet
Tax and Wage System. If you are interested in filing electronically through FTP, please contact
the Employer Tax Accounting Unit at (860) 263-6470. |
