UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE REEMPLOYMENT SERVICES AND ELIGIBILITY ASSESSMENT (UI RESEA)

UI RESEA is a program funded by the U.S. Department of Labor to help unemployment insurance claimants return to work faster. Claimants are randomly selected to participate. If you are selected, you will receive a notification within five weeks of initiating your claim that advises you to report for an in-person meeting.

The UI RESEA meeting includes an eligibility assessment regarding your unemployment benefits and a review of your work search approach and efforts. You will receive information about the services available through the American Job Centers as well as labor market and career information. An American Job Center representative will help you develop a plan to address your specific reemployment needs. Your plan will include a referral to at least one reemployment service and/or training.

If selected for UI RESEA:

You must fully participate in the UI RESEA program. Please allow at least 3 hours for your meeting. If you are unable to attend this mandatory meeting, you must call your local American Job Center prior to your scheduled appointment and provide a good reason for rescheduling. Failure to do so or attend this meeting will result in a disqualification from receiving unemployment benefits for the week of your scheduled appointment.

Step #1. Complete your registration with CTHires, the Department of Labor's online employment services system.

If you did not receive emails containing your username and password, please call your local American Job Center between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. so you may complete your registration at www.cthires.com.

Step #2. Fully complete the four (4) forms listed below:

REQUIRED FORMS

There are four required forms for the UI RESEA program. If you are selected to participate, these forms will be mailed to you.

If you were selected to participate in UI RESEA but did not receive the forms or need new copies, print, complete and bring these forms to your scheduled UI RESEA meeting.

The information requested on the JS-511b form may instead be entered in your CTHires "Background" tab.

Step #3. Report to the American Job Center.

Arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled meeting with a completed CTHires registration and all four (4) completed forms. If you have already entered the JS-511b information into CTHires, bring the three (3) other forms completed.

Please Note

You will need internet access and a valid email address to complete your registration in CTHires. If you do not have a computer or email, or need help completing the forms or your registration, report to the American Job Center for assistance before the day of your scheduled meeting.

Your forms will be reviewed during the meeting.  Please complete the Unemployment Insurance Work Search Record form (UI RESEA-230) for each week you filed for unemployment benefits as explained on the form.

If you arrive late to your appointment or do not have all forms completed, you will need to be rescheduled.

Directions and American Job Center contact information are available here.
