Apprenticeship programs in the State of Connecticut are administered by the Department of Labor. Skilled consultants provide technical assistance, monitoring, and consulting services to qualified employers willing to take on the responsibilities and obligations of program sponsorship. Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 777 will be opening applications for their apprenticeship program.   Applicants must apply in person at Local 777 J.A.T.C.,450 Murdock Ave, Meriden, CT 06450 Monday through Friday from May 5 to May 9 and  from May 12 to May 16 between the hours of 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM.

IBEW/NECA Northeastern Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee for the Outside Electrical Industry makes notice of  the availability of Journeyman Lineman Apprenticeship Openings for the states of CT, DE, ME, Eastern shore of MD, MA, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI and VT. 

Applications will be accepted from April 1, 2014 through October 31, 2014.  Application must be completed online at: WWW.NEAT1968.ORG.  An Aptitude Test processing fee of $25.00 is required for all completed applications.  Application fees may be waived with proof of need for waiver.All applicants for the lineman apprenticeship must be at least eighteen (18) years of age, have a valid Commercial Driverís Learnerís Permit or Commercial Driverís License and meet the requirements on the NJATC Aptitude Test in order to be considered for an interview.

Announcement regarding Registered Apprenticeship Grant

Pursuant to P.A. 13-247; the Labor Commissioner establishes a grant for taxpayers that employ apprentices under qualified registered apprenticeship training programs in the manufacturing trades, plastics and plastics-related trades or construction trades. 

Please read the General Information and Eligibility and Formula information for the respective trade you will be applying for. 

A worksheet for the manufacturing, plastics, and plastics-related trades and a worksheet for the construction trades is attached. 

If you do not qualify for this grant your company may qualify for the Apprenticeship Tax Credit pursuant to Section 12-217g of the Connecticut General Statutes.
