Labor Market Information (LMI) is a key ingredient to understanding
the workplace and the dynamics which influence job search and
career choices. Labor Market
Information can help you to evaluate options and consider opportunities.
That information, coupled with an awareness of your own interests, likes,
and dislikes, will give you a sense of direction. You can further define
that direction into a goal by identifying the skills you have or are
willing to develop.
A successful job search employs a plan.
Having chosen a goal, job candidates can use
the workshops, resource library materials, or counseling
assistance available at the Connecticut Works Centers
to develop such a plan. From the Department of Labor's
Employment Services page
and Connecticut
Works page you can link to a variety of useful employment and job
search information sources.
Our LMI Publications page, where you will see the
titles of all our publications with a brief description of each, is another resource to support your plan. You can read these publications at our centers or order them for your continued use. They contain data (tables or charts along with text) which have been collected, analyzed, and organized especially for the convenience of our readers. See the LMI Publications page for instructions on how to order copies. Below you will see a list of data items selected from our publications that are available for Web
viewing. A directory of LMI data resides on our
LMI Data page.
