Welcome to the CT Department of Labor’s website – your one-stop online information center for workforce services and programs. Our goal is to
provide the state’s business community and job seekers alike with quality services that ultimately strengthen the state’s workforce and economy. There is a wealth of information here and we trust that you will find our website informative and easy to use. New information posted daily keeps the site fresh and
relevant, and we have made great progress in “leaning and greening” our services so that an increasing number of functions can be accomplished
online. If you have suggestions or comments for changes,
please email us.
For those preferring a more personal approach, the CTWorks Centers offer business service specialists, career counselors, disability navigators, and
veterans’ representatives.

Employer services include recruitment assistance, regional job fairs, guidance on keeping
workplaces safe, and programs to help maintain and upgrade employee skills, such as apprenticeship and customized job training.
If you are an individual seeking employment, services include workshops, computer labs,
résumé assistance, unemployment insurance income support between jobs, potential re-training opportunities and referrals to other services you may
need.
Additionally, we provide extensive Labor Market Information to assist individuals and business owners with career choices, employment searches,
expansion plans and recruitment strategies.
The agency also provides access to resources to help with the compliance of laws and regulations the agency
administers. Enforcement responsibilities include health and safety, payment of wages, unemployment insurance, family and
medical leave, representation by labor organizations, and resolution of labor disputes.
We take these responsibilities seriously and as an agency, we strive to provide “opportunity, guidance and
support” to every individual and business owner.
Thank you,
Glenn Marshall, Commissioner
