Unemployment Benefits On-Line Job Seekers Employers Labor Market Information Directions/Office Information
Scott D. Jackson, Labor Commissioner

Welcome to the CT Department of Labor’s website – your online information center for workforce services and programs. We are always working to increase our technology to provide a growing number of online options, and I hope you will find our website informative and easy to use.

One of our newer services includes CTHires, a cost-free employment website to help jobseekers and employers. Jobseekers can use multiple search criteria to look for job opportunities while the Résumé Builder feature takes the guesswork out of creating a professional résumé. Employers can use CTHires to help them find and recruit the employees they need by searching résumés or posting open positions.

Other online services include our UI Online Assistance Center, for those with inquiries related to an unemployment claim (such as needing to change an address or calling to report they are returning to work), while Connecticut’s employers are finding it convenient to file their quarterly UI payments online. The Department of Labor understands the importance of timeliness in managing unemployment claims, and we are here to help you.

Many of our publications can also be found online. Other features include the ability to research the latest labor force trends, or employers can make an appointment to meet with their local Business Service Specialist to find out more about programs available to benefit their companies, including tax credits, wage subsidies and free safety consultations offered by our CONN-OSHA professionals.

For those preferring a more personal approach, residents are always welcome to visit their local American Job Center for assistance with job search strategies, to meet with a career counselor or veterans’ representative, attend employment workshops, or use the fully-equipped self-service Career Center.

As an agency, our goal is to strengthen not only Connecticut’s workforce, but in fact its entire economy. We are always looking at new and innovative ways to achieve this goal and to better serve the residents of our state. Should you have any suggestions or comments, please email us. We look forward to hearing from you and appreciate your feedback.

Thank you,
Scott D. Jackson, Commissioner
