Keynote Presentation: Anne Parmenter

Titled “Climbing to New Heights,” last year’s event featured Trinity College head field hockey coach Anne Parmenter, who twice scaled Mount Everest, the second time successfully. She reached its summit, located 29,029 feet above sea level, on May 25, 2005. She told of the challenges and spoke of her determination to complete the climb. Asked why she did it, Parmenter replied: “I usually just say -- I was born this way.”
