WETHERSFIELD, Approximately 38
employees of Vishay Intertechnologiesí Vitramon Division, who manufactured
multi-layer ceramic capacitors, were certified on March 19, 2007 as eligible to
apply for Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) and Alternative Trade Adjustment
Assistance (ATAA) benefits.
The Connecticut Labor Department is mailing an
eligibility notice regarding the benefits to all affected employees and is
providing information on how to apply for benefits. Employees eligible to apply
for federal benefits are those who are, or will be, totally or partially
separated from employment on or after Feb. 15, 2006 and on or before March 19,
2009. Workers who qualify, yet do not receive eligibility information, are
urged to contact their nearest Labor Department CTWorks Center for
information and assistance.

training and income support in the form of Trade Readjustment Allowances, as
well as job search and relocation allowances for qualified workers who seek or
obtain employment outside their normal commuting areas. Participation in

workers who accept reemployment at a lower wage to receive a wage subsidy.
In addition, health coverage tax credits may be available to individuals
eligible to receive TAA income support or ATAA wage subsidies.
Those who need to
apply for unemployment benefits are reminded that claims are now taken over the
telephone or Internet. Information can be found on the Department of
