CT Labor Department Career Fair Scheduled March 30 at Danbury’s Ethan Allen

WETHERSFIELD – Whether you’re an
employer or jobseeker, you’ll want to make it a point to stop by Danbury’s Ethan
Allen Hotel on March 30 when Connecticut Department of Labor’s CT Career fair
comes to town. Representatives from more than 40 companies will be on hand for
the event -- the second in the agency’s spring series. Co-sponsored by Cumulus
Media, The City of Danbury, and the Greater Danbury Chamber of Commerce, the
event will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
"Our Danbury Career Fair has become a
tradition in western Connecticut for both employers and jobseekers, alike,”
explains Acting Commissioner Linda Agnew. “Last year more 2,000 people visited
the Danbury Career Fair, and we’re expecting a similar turnout this year. Our
March 30 fair will provide employers with an excellent opportunity to recruit
onsite, while jobseekers will be able to meet one-on-one and introduce
themselves and their companies."
In addition, attendees will be able to
participate in three workshops:
Best Tool to Finding a Job and Getting Hired - Sponsored by Boerhinger
Ingelheim and Goodrich Corp, it will be presented by Jon Dupree of Vertigae
Marketing and run from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and from 2 to 2:45 p.m.
Right MINDSET for a successful job search
- Defining SMART goals and Daily
“RICH”UALS” it will be presented by Dipak Ghosh of Action COACH, it will run
from 1 to 2 p.m.
Skills and Why Now is a Great Time to Think About a Career Change –
Sponsored by Ridley-Lowell Business and Technical Institute, this workshop
will run from noon to 1 p.m. and 2 to 3 p.m.
The registration fee for
companies wishing to participate is $295. That cost includes a skirted table, a
company sign, program guide listing, extensive advertising on the radio,
