WETHERSFIELD - Now in its 22nd year, the Manchester Community College
Job Fair will be held on Saturday, March 27 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Great
Path Academy Gymnasium. The event is co-sponsored by the Connecticut Department
of Labor, Manchester Community College (MCC), the Journal Inquirer, WDRC-FM
and the Manchester Community College Alumni Association.
“The MCC job fair has become a tradition not only for us, but for area employers
and jobseekers as well,” explains Department of Labor Acting Commissioner Linda
Agnew. “Individuals stopping by can meet face-to-face with companies offering
positions in management, professional, technical, medical manufacturing and
sales fields. With more than 2,000 prospective candidates expected to attend the
job fair, employers will have the opportunity to conduct interviews and
streamline their recruitment efforts.”
Job seekers will also be able to meet with Certified Professional Résumé Writers
from the Connecticut Department of Labor that will be onsite throughout the
event to review and critique résumés in order to help ensure they fully showcase
an applicant’s skills and accomplishments.
Companies already participating in the job fair include CarMax, Cox
Communications, Eastern Connecticut Health Network, General Dynamics Electric
Boat, Rockville Bank, and the Village for Families and Children.
Admission to the Manchester Community College Job Fair is free and there is no
charge for parking. Job seekers are reminded to bring plenty of résumés, dress
to impress, and be ready to meet with prospective employers. For additional
