WETHERSFIELD, The Department of Labor’s
Connecticut Career Fair series travels to Groton on Thursday, May 14 for the
third event in its spring series, a show that takes place 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at
the Groton Inn & Suites.
“This job fair will help Connecticut-based companies attract and retain the
skilled workforce they need, while also alerting talented students from local
colleges to the many exciting job opportunities available in our state and this
region,” noted State Labor Commissioner Patricia H. Mayfield. Representatives
from more than 40 companies are expected to attend the Groton job fair and will
be eager to talk with jobseekers about employment opportunities within their
organizations, the Commissioner added.
“The Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce is excited to co-sponsor this job fair
in conjunction with our regional partners, the Chamber of Commerce of Eastern
Connecticut, CTWorks of Eastern Connecticut, and especially, the
Department of Labor,” said Chamber President Tricia Cunningham. “Businesses in
our region will have the opportunity to fill positions open because of expanding
areas of business, growing demand for their products and services, and baby
boomer retirements,” she added.
