DOL’s Career Express Makes Stops at Libraries, Adult Education To Provide Job Assistance

WETHERSFIELD - Connecticut Employees on board the agency’s Career Express will conduct job search and interviewing workshops for graduating high school students and present job search assistance and résumé critiquing workshops at area libraries during the first part of April. Stops in the community include the following visits:

  • April 2: Job search assistance and résumé critiquing workshops, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Bishop’s Corner Branch Library, 15 Starkel Road, West Hartford.
     

  • April 6: Job search and interviewing workshops for graduating Norwich Technical High School students, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The high school is located at 7 Mahan Drive.
     

  • April 8: Job search strategies, interviewing and job search workshops, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Middletown Adult Education offices, 398 Main Street, Middletown.
     

  • April 9: Job search assistance from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Mitchell Branch Library, 37 Harrison Street in New Haven. Job seekers can conduct online job searches or have their résumé critiqued by Certified Professional Résumé Writers on board the vehicle. Questions can also be answered regarding job searches and interviewing, and information will be available about employment services at the agency’s CTWorks Career Centers.
     

  • April 14: Job search assistance from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. visit at the Stetson Branch Library, 200 Dixwell Avenue, New Haven.  Job seekers can conduct online job searches or have their résumé critiqued by Certified Professional Résumé Writers on board the vehicle. Questions can also be answered regarding job searches and interviewing, and information will be available about employment services at the agency’s CTWorks Career Centers.
     

  • April 15: Job search strategies workshop and an introduction to the employment services available at the CTWorks Career Centers during an 8:30 a.m. to noon visit to the Hartford Job Corps Academy. The Academy is located at William “Shorty” Campbell Drive in Hartford.
