Career Express Visits include Job Search Assistance Workshops at Area Libraries

WETHERSFIELD - Connecticut Department of Labor employees aboard the agency’s Career Express will continue a busy schedule during mid to late February, traveling statewide  to provide job search and résumé writing assistance.  Their itinerary includes:

  • February 19: Career Express staff will present an overview of one-stop services, conduct a job search workshop, and provide tips and advice for writing résumés during a 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. stop at the New Haven Job Corps. The New Haven Job Corps is located at 455 Wintergreen Avenue in New Haven.
     

  • February 20: Career Express staff will provide job search assistance to the public on a first-come, first-served basis during a visit to the Fair Haven Public Library in New Haven. Job seekers will be able to conduct online job searches, learn about other job search sites, or have their résumés critiqued by Certified Professional Résumé Writers from the Connecticut Department of Labor during the 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. visit. Staff will also be available to answer questions about job searches and interviewing, and information will also be provided about the agency’s CTWorks Centers and the services available there.  The Fair Haven Public Library is located at 120 South Main Street.
     

  • February 23: Career Express staff will provide job search assistance during a first-come, first-served, open-to-the public visit to the Noah Webster Public Library in West Hartford running from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Job seekers will be able to conduct online job searches, learn about other job search sites, or have their résumés critiqued by Certified Professional Résumé Writers from the Connecticut Department of Labor during the 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. visit. Staff will also be available to answer questions about job searches and interviewing, and information will also be provided about the agency’s CTWorks Centers and the services available there. The Noah Webster Public Library is located at 20 South Main Street, West Hartford.
     

  • February 24 Career Express staff will provide job search assistance to the public on a first-come, first-served basis during a 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. stop at the Courtland Wilson Branch Library in New Haven. Job seekers will be able to conduct online job searches, learn about other job search sites, or have their résumés critiqued by Certified Professional Résumé Writers from the Connecticut Department of Labor during the 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. visit. Staff will also be available to answer questions about job searches and interviewing, and information will also be provided about the agency’s CTWorks Centers and the services available. The Courtland Wilson Branch Library is located at 303 Washington Avenue, New Haven.
     

  • February 26:  Employees on board the Career Express will provide job search assistance for Capital Region Mental Health clients during a 9 a.m. to noon visit to the agency, which is located on Coventry Street in Hartford.
     

  • February 27: Career Express staff will provide job search assistance during a first-come, first-served, open-to-the public visit to the Terryville Public Library running from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Job seekers will be able to conduct online job searches, learn about other job search sites, or have their résumés critiqued by Certified Professional Résumé Writers from the Connecticut Department of Labor during the 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. visit. Staff will also be available to answer questions about job searches and interviewing, and information will also be provided about the agency’s CTWorks Centers and the services available there. The Terryville Public Library is located at 238 Main Street, Terryville.
