Heroes4Hire Career Fair for Veterans Provides Excellent Recruitment Opportunities for Employers

WETHERSFIELD,  State Labor Department Commissioner Patricia H. Mayfield reminds the state’s business community that an Oct. 6 Heroes 4 Hire Career Fair for veterans provides an excellent forum from which they can reach out to a job-ready pool of potential employees possessing proven skills. 

Approximately 50 businesses and organizations are already participating in the event being held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Rentschler Field Ballroom in East Hartford. Some spaces still remain and employers interested in taking part in the career fair can obtain a registration form by going to the Connecticut Department of Labor’s Web site at and clicking on Employer Registration, or by calling (860) 263-6449. 

“The Heroes4Hire Career Fair provides companies with an excellent opportunity to meet one-on-one, in a central location, with individuals who bring with them already-developed skills that will work to an employer’s benefit,” Mayfield noted. “Our former service personnel are a dedicated group of men and women that will most certainly be an asset to any company looking for knowledge and experience, in addition to a strong sense of teamwork, organization and leadership skills.” 

The Heroes 4 Hire Career Fair is sponsored by the Connecticut Department of Labor, the Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs and CBS Radio. There is no admission charge for attendees and free parking is plentiful. 

Three previous Heroes 4 Hire Job Fairs attracted more than 1,200 qualified job candidates and Mayfield expects a similar turnout on Oct. 6.
