Renovations Completed; Westcott Road Site To Re-open Sept. 29
For immediate release
September 23, 2008
Connecticut Department of Labor’s temporary Danielson CTWorks Career
Center will close at noon on Thursday, Sept. 25 and remain closed to the public
on Friday, Sept. 26 to facilitate a move back to the now-renovated site located
at 95 Westcott Road.
According to State
Labor Commissioner Patricia H. Mayfield, the Center relocated this past June to
a temporary site at 559 Hartford Pike in Dayville while much-needed renovations
were made to the Westcott Road office.
Mayfield noted that
the renovated office features a redesigned layout that includes a new computer
lab and phone system. The reconfigured space
will also allow Bureau of Rehabilitation Services counselors to co-locate in the
office for better customer convenience. In addition to other user-friendly
features, the newly-renovated CTWorks Career Center will feature a more
modern look, complete with a fresh coat of paint and new carpeting.
The temporary office located in Bell Park Plaza will shut down at noon on
Thursday and remain closed on Friday while the agency moves computers,
telephones, faxes and other office equipment back into the renovated office
space. To ensure the Center is ready to serve the public, plans are to open the
95 Westcott Road site at noon on Monday, Sept. 29.
For job seekers, services at the state’s CTWorks Career Centers
include job search and résumé writing assistance, skills assessments, advice
about interviewing, career transition workshops, videos, and information about
area job fairs. The Center also serves the business community with recruitment
assistance and provides information to help companies remain competitive. All
services are provided at no cost to customers.
The Centers also
offer telephones, faxes and Internet access for employment searches, Internet
for email correspondence, as well as copiers and Labor Market Information.
