For immediate release
June 16, 2008

WETHERSFIELD, The Department of Labor’s Connecticut Career Fair series travels to the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Cromwell on June 17 for the fifth -- and final -- event in its spring series.

Representatives from more than 45 companies will be on hand from noon to 4 p.m., eager to meet with potential employees, notes State Labor Commissioner Patricia H. Mayfield.

”Whether you’re looking for a job or hoping to make a career move, you’ll want to stop by the Crowne Plaza for our final 2008 spring career fair,” she explains. “Job seekers will have an opportunity to meet face-to-face with recruiters looking to hire qualified candidates in a variety of fields that range from entry level to management.”

In addition, the Connecticut Department of Labor’s Certified Professional Résumé Writers will be at the Cromwell job fair and for no charge will review and critique job résumés. Employment assistance can also be found on the agency’s mobile office, the Career Express, which will be parked outside the job fair. Connecticut Department of Labor employees on board the Career Express will be able to answer questions and assist with employment needs, including online job searches.

Jobseekers can visit www.ctjobfairs.com for directions to the Cromwell Career Fair and to obtain a list of participating employers. The Crowne Plaza Hotel, located on 100 Berlin Rd., can be reached by taking Exit 21 from I-91, traveling either north or south.
