Torrington High, Norwich Free Academy And Cheney Tech are Career Express stops
Connecticut Department of Labor announces schedule for May 1 to 15

WETHERSFIELD, Connecticut Department of Labor employees on board the agency’s Career Express, will, during the first part of May, take part in a career fair at Torrington High School, present a series of interviewing/job search workshops at Norwich Free Academy, participate in a Career Day at ACES Whitney High School in Hamden, and a student job fair at Howell Cheney Technical  High School in Manchester.

May 1:  Career Express staff will participate in a Learning Disability Conference taking place from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Farmington Marriott, located on Farms Spring Road in Farmington. 

May 2: Connecticut Department of Labor employees on board the Career Express will take part in a career fair at Torrington High School, providing information about Connecticut Department of Labor services during a 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. visit. Torrington High School is located on Major Besse Drive. 

May 5: Career Express staff will provide job search assistance from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the City of Danbury’s shelter, which is located on New Street in Danbury. 

May 6: Career Express staff will provide job search, interviewing and résumé assistance for participants of Torrington’s Family Stride Fatherhood Restart Program during a noon to 4 p.m. visit to the organization’s offices, located at 350 Main Street, Suite D. 

May 7: Connecticut Department of Labor employees on board the Career Express will present a series of interviewing/job search workshops at Norwich Free Academy from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Norwich Free Academy is located at 305 Broadway, Norwich. 

May 8: Connecticut Department of Labor employees on board the Career Express will participate in a Career Day event taking place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at ACES Whitney High School in Hamden. Career Express staff will present an introduction to one stop services, and provide an overview of job search resources and education and training resources at the school, which is located at 205 Skiff Street.

May 9: Career Express staff will provide job search assistance and information regarding Department of Labor services during a 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. stop at River Valley Services. River Valley Services is located at 351 Silver Street in Middletown.

May 12: Career Express employees will present a series of workshops to students during a 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. visit to  F.T. Maloney High School in Meriden F.T. Maloney High School is located at 121 Gravel Street.

 May 14: Connecticut Department of Labor employees on board the Career Express will participate in a student job fair during which they will provide an overview of Connecticut Department of Labor services during an 8:30 a.m. to noon visit to Howell Cheney Technical High School. Cheney Tech is located at 791 West Middle Turnpike in Manchester.

May  14: Career Express staff will take part in a Marrakech Disability Community Fair being held from 3 to 6 p.m. at Marrakech’s headquarters, located at 526 Whaley Avenue in New Haven.

May 15: Connecticut Department of Labor employees on the Career Express will conduct job search and interviewing workshops for students at New Haven Job Corps from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. New Haven Job Corps is located at 455 Wintergreen Avenue, New Haven.
