DOL’s Career Express To Visit Veterans Benefits Fair, Provide Career Workshops

WETHERSFIELD, Connecticut Department of Labor employees on board the agency’s Career Express will assist visitors attending a veterans fair, take part in a regional job fair, and provide career exploration workshops the second half of April.

April 16:  Career Express staff will provide job search assistance to residents of Hartford’s Open Hearth Shelter on Sheldon Street during a 1 to 4 p.m. visit. 

April 17: The Career Express staff will assist visitors during a college career fair being held from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bristol’s Eastern High School, 632 King Street. 

April 19: Career Express staff will assist visitors, answer career-related questions, and help with résumé preparation and job search efforts during a 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. stop at a Veterans’ Benefits Fair being held at the Legislative Office Building, 300 Capitol Ave., Hartford. 

April 21: Connecticut Department of Labor employees on board the Career Express will present a series of interviewing/job search workshops during a 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. visit to Norwich Free Academy,  305 Broadway, in Norwich. 

April 22: The Career Express will be onsite and visitors can talk with Connecticut Department of Labor employees aboard the vehicle from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., during the agency’s second spring Connecticut Career Fair being held at the North Haven Holiday Inn, 201 Washington Ave., North Haven. 

April 23: Connecticut Department of Labor employees on board the Career Express will present a series of job search and interviewing workshops and also provide an overview of DOL services during a visit to the Hartford Job Corps Academy, 100 William Shorty Campbell Dr., Hartford.

April 24: Connecticut Department of Labor employees on board the Career Express will participate in a Spring Youth Fair being held from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Holiday Inn, 10 Laura Dr., Norwich.  

April 28: Career Express employees will present a workshop dealing with Labor Market Information and career exploration using the agency’s Job and Career Connection during an 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. stop at Emmett O’Brien Technical High School, 141 Prindle Ave., Ansonia. 

April 29: Connecticut Department of Labor employees on board the Career Express will participate in a Career Day taking place at North Haven High School from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.,  221 Elm Street. 

April 30: Career Express employees will present a series of seminars dealing with researching jobs and conducting job searches during a 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. visit to Grasso Technical High School, 189 Fort Hill Road.
