Career Express Team Provides Career Assistance to Students, Community Groups

WETHERSFIELD -- During the second part of March, Connecticut Department of Labor employees on board the agency’s Career Express will provide job search assistance to area high school students, participate in a Career Day in Milford, and assist visitors during a job fair being sponsored by the Capital Region Mental Health Center in Hartford. Stops made by the Career Express include the following locations: 

March 13: Career Express staff will provide job search assistance to graduating Porter and Chester Institute students during a 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. visit to the school’s Branford campus. Porter & Chester is located at 221 West Main Street. 

March 14: Connecticut Department of Labor employees on board the Career Express will assist Foxwoods Resort employees with a recruitment for new workers during a 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. stop at the Connecticut Department of Labor’s Hartford CTWorks Center. The Hartford CTWorks Center is located at 3580 Main Street. 

March 15:  The Career Express staff will assist students with their career needs and answer questions during a Career Day being held from 9 a.m. to noon at Foran High School, 80 Foran Road in Milford.   

March 19: Connecticut Department of Labor employees on board the Career Express will present two one-hour résumé workshops during a 6 to 8 p.m. visit to Branford High School, located at 185 East Main Street. 

March 20:  Career Express staff will provide job search assistance to graduating Porter and Chester Institute students during a 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. visit to the school’s Branford campus, 221 West Main Street. 

March 28: Department of Labor employees will be on the Career Express to provide job search assistance from 9 a.m. to noon at a job fair being sponsored by the Capital Region Mental Health Center, 500 Vine Street, Hartford.

March 31: Department of Labor employees and the Career Express will visit Glastonbury High School, 330 Hubbard St., and will provide job search workshops for the students from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
