Career Express Participating in Project Homelessness
Dec. 1 to 15 visits slated by Connecticut Department of Labor

December 1, 2008

WETHERSFIELD, Connecticut Department of Labor employees on board the agency’s Career Express will, from Dec. 1 to 15, provide job search assistance during a Project Homelessness Connect Hartford-sponsored service fair at the XL Center in Hartford, provide job search assistance to Open Hearth clients, make a stop at the Hartford Job Corps Academy, and present job search assistance and interviewing workshops during a Connecticut Puerto Rican Forum event.

Dec. 3: Career Express staff will provide job search assistance to Project Homeless Connect Danbury clients during a 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. visit to the Elks Lodge in Danbury. The Danbury Elks Lodge is located at 346 Main Street, Danbury.

Dec. 4
: Career Express staff will provide job search assistance during a Project Homelessness Connect Hartford-sponsored service provider fair taking place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the XL Center in Hartford.  The XL Center is located at One Civic Center Plaza, Hartford.

Dec. 10: Career Express staff will present Introduction to One Stop Services and Job Search Strategies workshops to students during an 8:30 a.m. to noon visit to the Hartford Job Corps Academy. The Hartford Job Corps Academy is located at 100 William “Shorty” Campbell Drive.

Dec. 10: Career Express staff will provide job search assistance for residents during a 1 to 4 p.m. visit to Open Hearth. Open Hearth is located on Sheldon Street in Hartford.

Dec. 11: Connecticut Department of Labor employees on board the Career Express will present workshops detailing job search strategies, career exploration and using the agency’s Job and Career Connection during a 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. visit to Emmett O’Brien Technical High School in Ansonia. The school is located at 141 Prindle Avenue, Ansonia.

Dec. 12: Career Express staff will present job search assistance and interviewing workshops during a Connecticut Puerto Rican Forum-sponsored event being held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the organization’s headquarters, located at 95 Park Street, Hartford.
