Torrington CTWorks Center Relocates To
New Main Street Office on Nov. 3

Connecticut Department of Labor’s temporary Torrington CTWorks Center
will close at noon on Thursday, Oct. 30, and remain closed to the public on
Friday, Oct. 31 to facilitate a move by employees into their new location
at 685 Main Street. The renovated office will open for business at noon on
Monday, Nov. 3.
“Since June, our
customers have been visiting us at our temporary office in the Kmart
Shopping Plaza,” noted State Labor Commissioner Patricia H. Mayfield. “Now, with
renovations on our permanent site complete, including an updated computer lab,
we will be moving two doors up to our new home.”
Along with the
Labor Department, other organizations at the CTWorks Center include
Family Services of Greater Waterbury, the Northwest Regional Workforce
Investment Board, Inc., New Opportunities, Inc. and The Workforce Connection.
Mayfield, to facilitate the move as efficiently as possible, the temporary
office will close at noon on Oct. 30 and remain closed all day on Oct. 31 to
give staff from the agency’s Facilities Management and Information Technology
units the opportunity to move computers, telephones, faxes and other office
equipment into the new location.
The new Torrington
CTWorks Center will continue to offer a wide variety of employment and
career services to job seekers and employers, including job search assistance,
résumé writing and critique services, skills assessments; interviewing tips,
career transition workshops, videos, information about area job fairs and an
online job bank. Employers can obtain recruitment assistance and information on
tax credits, training programs and labor market information.
and Internet access for employment searches and email correspondence are also
available with all services provided at no cost to customers. The office is open
Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
