Visits Schools, Businesses, Rentschler Field During Second Half of January

WETHERSFIELD, During the second half of
January, Connecticut Department of Labor employees on board the agency’s
Career Express will attend a community job fair, assist prospective
employees complete online job applications, and take part in a veterans job and
career fair. Stops made by the Career Express include the following
Career Express staff
will participate in a community job fair being held 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the
Immaculate Conception Shelter, 778 Park Street in Hartford.
Connecticut Department of
Labor employees on board the Career Express will present an
overview of employment and training services available from the agency, and will
offer résumé writing tips during a 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. visit to Sheehan High
School, 142 Hope Hill Rd., Wallingford.
January 24 and
31: Career Express
staff will conduct a Labor Market Information workshop and will assist students
with career exploration strategies and the Internet-based Job and Career
ConnecTion during a 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. stop at Emmett O’Brien Technical High
School. The school is located at 141 Prindle Ave., Ansonia.
January 28 and
30: Career Express
staff will be onsite at Celebration Foods in New Britain from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.,
with Labor Department employees assisting company representatives to process of
online applications. Celebration Foods is located at 263-285 Myrtle St.
The Department of Labor’s Heroes4Hire Job and Career Fair will feature
more than 60 employers, résumé assistance and the Career Express from 11
a.m. to 3 p.m. at Rentschler Field in East Hartford. Job Fair visitors are
welcome to check out the Career Express for employment and career
assistance, and to find out more about the state’s CTWorks employment
services. The job fair is co-sponsored by the Connecticut Department of Veterans
Affairs and the Department of the Military.
