WETHERSFIELD, Employees from the Connecticut Department of Labor will be at the Eastern States Exposition (the “Big E”) in West Springfield, MA on Sept.18 and 19 – which has been designated as “Connecticut Day” at the event – to give employment advice, offer career tips, and to also provide other, agency-related information.

“We will be setting up a booth in the Connecticut Building from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on both days to meet and talk with visitors and also to showcase this agency’s many programs and services,” explains State Labor Commissioner Patricia H. Mayfield. “People visiting the Big E who stop by our booth will be able to learn about such things as the latest career trends and the variety of services which are available to job seekers and businesses in our 14 CTWorks Career Centers, which are conveniently located throughout the state. DOL employees at the Big E will answer any career-related questions people might have, and also give them an overview of the many free services -- such as résumé writing and job search assistance -- that they can obtain at one of our offices, or aboard the Career Express, our mobile career center, which regularly travels to schools, companies and community organizations throughout Connecticut.  A number of other services can be found right online.”

Connecticut Department of Labor employees are especially pleased to be representing the agency at the Big E on Sept. 19, “Connecticut Day,” Commissioner Mayfield adds.

“We’re happy to be able to showcase the Connecticut Department of Labor at the Big E,” she notes. “Being there for Connecticut Day, which shines the spotlight on the contributions from our state, makes it all the more special, too. Because, working with, and on the behalf of, the people and businesses of Connecticut, helping them with their every employment need, is our primary mission. Please drop by our booth at the Big E and say hello.”
