Connecticut Labor Department Announces Career Express Schedule for Sept. 1 to 15

WETHERSFIELD, Connecticut Department of Labor employees on board the agency’s Career Express, will, during the first part of September, take part in a job fair sponsored by the New Haven Register and held at the North Haven Holiday Inn, and will conduct a job search and interviewing techniques workshop at the Farmington Alternative High School.

Stops will be made by the Career Express at the following locations from September 1 to 15:

September 5: Career Express staff will provide online job search and job application assistance during a New Haven Register-sponsored job fair being held at the North Haven Holiday Inn from 1 to 4 p.m. The Holiday Inn is located at 201 Washington Avenue, North Haven. 

September 11:  Career Express staff will provide job search assistance and will give an overview of Connecticut Department of Labor services to participants of the South Park Inn Shelter’s transitional living program during a 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. visit to that facility. The South Park Inn Shelter is located on Main Street in Hartford. 

September 13:  Connecticut Department of Labor employees on board the Career Express will present a training session on Internet job search and online applications during a job fair being sponsored by Qualex Inc. It will be held from 1 to 5 p.m. at the company’s facility, which is located at Presige Park Circle in East Hartford.

September 14:  Career Express staff will present a job search and interviewing techniques workshop from 10 a.m. until noon at the Farmington Alternative High School. It  is located on School Street in Unionville. 

The Career Express team can be found at job fairs, career development events, schools, and other workshops, seminars and events across the state.
