Career Express to Visit Job Fair, Veteran Stand Down Second Half of September

WETHERSFIELD, Connecticut Department of Labor employees on board the agency’s Career Express are taking part in a job fair in New Haven, assisting veterans annual Stand Down activities taking place in Rocky Hill. The following stops are scheduled:

September 19: Career Express staff will provide online job search and job application assistance during a job fair being sponsored by Project MORE at the organization’s offices at 830 Grand Avenue in New Haven. The job fair will run from 10:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.

September 21:  Labor Department employees on board the Career Express will showcase the capabilities of the agency’s mobile career center and offer employment and training information during Stand Down 2007, the annual day-long outreach and support program for veterans taking place Sept. 21 on the grounds of the State Veterans Home, located at 287 West Street, Rocky Hill. The Career Express will be onsite from 7 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.

September 24: Career Express staff will present job search workshops at the Norwich Homeless Shelter from 10 to 11:30 a.m., and the New London Homeless Shelter, from 1 to 2:30 p.m., respectively.

 

September 26: Job search assistance on the Career Express will be provided from noon until 5 p.m. for residents of Danbury’s homeless shelter, located at 41 New Street.

 

September 27:  Career Express staff will present a workshop detailing the Connecticut Department of Labor’s One-Stop workforce services, the agency’s Web site, and job search assistance for adult education program participants during a stop at the Capitol Region Educational Council’s Hartford offices located at 34 Sequassen Street in Hartford. The workshop will run from noon until 5 p.m.

 

September 28: An overview will be given of the Department’s One-Stop workforce and job search services during a 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Career Express visit to River Valley Services. River Valley Services is located on Center Road West in Old Saybrook.
