For immediate release
May 10, 2007

WETHERSFIELD, Employees from the Connecticut Department of Labor’s Division of Occupational Safety (CONN-OSHA) are taking the show on the road in May for their monthly CONN-OSHA Breakfast Roundtable Discussion group and are joining with Concentra Medical Centers of New Britain to present Ergonomics in the Workplace: An Interdisciplinary Approach.

The May 15 breakfast event will be held 8 a.m. to noon at the Crowne Plaza Hartford-Cromwell. 100 Berlin Road, Cromwell.

According to John Able, CONN-OSHA Training Officer and coordinator of the discussion series, the topic is very current since the state’s General Assembly has proposed a regulation regarding ergonomics and workplace safety.

“Ergonomics is a subject we believe many Connecticut employers and employees would like to learn more about,” Able points out. “Many residents do not have a good understanding of the importance of ergonomics and this meeting will explore the right approaches to take in order to ensure the safety and health of the workforce.”

Featured speakers at the breakfast will include William Patterson, MD, MPH, assistant vice president of Medical Operations for the northeast zone of Concentra Health Services and Keith Havenmeyer, MSPT, the company’s assistant vice president of Therapy Operations.

Concentra Medical Centers is a leading occupational health provider, with 310 medical centers throughout the nation.

This month only, the meeting requires a per-person cost to Concentra for the light breakfast. The registration deadline is noon on Friday, May 11 and additional information can be obtained by calling CONN-OSHA at (860) 263-6900 or by contacting John Able at
