For immediate release
March 23, 2007

Workers age 55 and beyond are invited to participate in the MaturityWorks open house being held 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, March 30 at the CTWorks Center, 645 South Main St., Middletown.

Sponsored by the Connecticut Department of Labor and Workforce Alliance, both partners in the CTWorks system, the open house will feature tours of the Career Center,  computer lab, and the CTWorks Career Coach, a mobile workforce center with computer stations and Internet access.

The open house will also offer a special workshop “55 & Beyond” that will be held at 11 a.m., and again at 3 p.m. The workshop will explore specific strategies and training programs that may be available to the growing number of people over the age of 55 who are in the workforce, or looking at new employment opportunities.

In addition, employment specialists will be onsite to review the wide variety of career and employment services available to jobseekers. Services at the state’s 14 CTWorks offices include career counseling, résumé critique, an electronic job bank, and workshops with topics ranging from job search strategies to interview skills.

Complimentary refreshments will be available from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and giveaways will be provided to the first 30 pre-registered guests on arrival.

Due to limited space, pre-registration is encouraged by calling 860-754-5030. Additional information can also be obtained by directing an email to L.page@workforcealliance.biz.
