Connecticut Labor Department Announces Career Express’ Schedule for December 1st to 15th

WETHERSFIELD - During the first part of December, Connecticut Department of Labor employees on board the agency’s Career Express will participate in a series of Project Homeless Connect events, conduct résumé workshops, and offer a job search assistance workshops. Stops made by the Career Express include the following locations: 

December 4: Career Express staff will assist graduating students of Porter and Chester Institute in Branford, 221 West Main St., with job search and interviewing skills, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. 

December 5: Connecticut Department of Labor employees on board the Career Express will be in Danbury to provide information about agency services and provide job search assistance during a 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Project Homeless Connect Service Provider Fair. The event will be held at the Danbury Elks Lodge located on Main Street. Project Homeless Connect is a national event sponsored by community leaders. It is designed to provide housing assistance, employment and social services, and hospitality in a convenient one-stop model in order to reach people experiencing homelessness.  

December 11: Career Express staff will assist graduating students of Porter and Chester Institute in Branford, 221 West Main St., with job search and interviewing skills from 5 to 7 p.m.  

December 12: Connecticut Department of Labor employees on board the Career Express will be in New Haven to provide information about agency services and provide job search assistance during a 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Project Homeless Connect Service Provider Fair at 592 Ella Grasso Boulevard, New Haven. Project Homeless Connect is a national event sponsored by community leaders. It is designed to provide housing assistance, employment and social services, and hospitality in a convenient one-stop model in order to reach people experiencing homelessness.

The Career Express staff will also assist job seekers at a Hartford Project Homeless Connect Service Provider Fair from 1:30 to 4 p.m. at 285 Church Street in Hartford. 

December 13: The Career Express will be in Hartford for a job search assistance workshop geared for residents of Open Hearth on Sheldon Street, from 1 to 4 p.m.
