Labor Department’s Career Express Schedule Includes Visit to Job Fair, Résumé Workshop

WETHERSFIELD, During the second half of November, Connecticut Department of Labor employees on board the agency’s Career Express will participate in an adult education job fair, conduct computer training classes and provide a résumé workshop for graduating students. Stops will be made at the following events:

November 20: Connecticut Department of Labor employees and the Career Express will participate in a Groton Adult Education job fair taking place from 6 to 8 p.m. at the West Side Middle School in Groton, 250 Brandegee Ave.

November 26:  Career Express staff will take part in a Plainville Adult Education Career Exploration event for GED and Credit Diploma students being held 5 to 8 p.m. at Plainville High School, 47 Robert Holcomb Way.

November 27: Connecticut Department of Labor employees will bring the Career Express to Old Saybrook and conduct training courses in Basic Word at River Valley Services, 2 Center Road West, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

November 28: Career Express staff will conduct a résumé workshop for graduating Branford Adult Education adult education students from 5:15 to 8:15 p.m. at the Branford Adult Education offices, 185 Main St.

November 29:  Connecticut Department of Labor employees on board the Career Express will present job and interviewing workshops during a 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. visit to the Hartford Job Corps Academy, 100 William “Shorty” Campbell Dr., Hartford. 

November 30: Career Express staff will participate in Housatonic Valley Regional High School’s Career Day from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Students can explore careers using the Job and Career Connection tools and learn about services available at the Labor Department Housatonic Valley Regional High School is located at 246 Warren Turnpike Road, Falls Village.

The Career Express team can be found at job fairs, career development events, schools, workshops, seminars and events across the state.
