Teachers

We provide training and resources for teachers to help them assist their students as they enter the workforce.  Although teenagers may work part-time or seasonally full-time a bulk of their day is spent in the classroom, making teachers an important source of information and guidance for working students.  By increasing teachers' knowledge of workplace policy and young worker regulations, they are better able to guide their students toward proper government and school agencies should issues arise and provide counsel if students have employment related questions.

We encourage all educators to become train-the-trainer advocates to help promote workplace health and safety for teens. The training curriculum is a toolkit consisting of with resource information, links to health and safety websites, and provides students an opportunity to participate in important conversations about health and safety hazards in the workplace through role play scenarios. If you are interested in attending a training session, please contact Judith.Andrews@ct.gov
