assistance program pays for half the cost of consultants or
industry-specific experts for projects that improve a manufacturer's
competitiveness.

The TAA Coalition
assists workers participate in the TAA program, which includes informing
potential participants of the program and providing technical and legal
assistance to petitioners. The Coalition also serves as a clearinghouse to
connect those seeking pro bono legal help to pursue TAA petitions with
lawyers and law firms that provide such assistance. Workers dissatisfied
with a negative U.S. Department of Labor determination who intend to appeal
may receive assistance from the Trade Adjustment Assistance Coalition in
Washington.
