Expectations

Expectations

Lean symbolizes a new way of doing business.  Continuous improvement is a necessity in today’s competitive workplace and the Department of Labor is accomplishing this through Lean Government principals. As a result of implementing Lean techniques, the DOL has increased the value of its services to both the business community and individuals in Connecticut.

Implementing Lean also produces standard work.  Standard work is a method to precisely define work tasks and the specific sequence that those tasks must be performed relative to customer demand.  Without standard work, process variability, reliability and capability are unpredictable.

Other Expectations of Lean:

  • Increased productivity

  • Fewer errors

  • Exceeding customer expectations

  • Improved employee satisfaction

  • Empowered staff
