The Customer

The Customer

The customer is the most important part of our process and drives how we do business.

The Center for Lean Government has two distinct customer segments for its services:

Internal: unit-to-unit approach within the Department of Labor where staff is empowered to champion their work groups forward with on-going exercises and kaizen events (continuous incremental improvement).

Internal Lean is designed for the Department's streamlining usage and is not expected to generate fees or charge backs in terms of budget and fund accounting. The cost savings of people hours and resource reduction demonstrates the true value of Lean with agency operations and service delivery.

External: State of Connecticut Agencies and Commissions: There are over fifty state agencies and commissions with great potential for Lean training programs and/or kaizen events. Academic institutions such as the State University system and Community Technical Colleges would also benefit from Lean training.

Out of State Government Agencies: States within the New England region have been targeted for solicitation, in particular State Labor Departments, and Employment Security Divisions.
