Often, we hear about the difficulty employers are having in
finding the right employee to fill a specific job opening. At the same time,
qualified jobseekers appear to have the necessary skills, but can’t make the
right connections. The Connecticut Job Match Initiative was designed to help
make those connections by using a combination of technology and experienced job
developers.
Additionally, employers are often eager to hire a veteran because
of the specific skills they gained while in the service, as well as the
qualities they bring to the workplace, such as leadership, integrity and
motivation. For this reason, a job matching program tailored specifically for
veterans has also been developed.
If you are an employer looking for job candidates skilled in
manufacturing or construction, or if you are a jobseeker with specific
experience in these fields, we hope you will complete our online questionnaire
to see if this initiative can result in the right employment match for you.
The Job Match Initiative is a collaborative effort of U.S.
Congressman John Larson and the Connecticut Delegation, CT Department of Labor,
Veterans Workforce Development, CT Office of Workforce Competiveness, CT
Department of Veterans Affairs, CT Board of Regents for Higher Education, CT
Center for Advanced Technology, Associated General Contractors of Connecticut
and the CT Workforce Development Council.
