About the New Haven Job Corps
The center will train students to become skilled workers in facilities maintenance, carpentry, health occupations, stationary engineering, culinary arts, and advanced baking and pastry making. The advanced baking and pastry making course is reserved for students nation-wide who have completed Job Corps Culinary Arts courses.
The campus, located near Southern Connecticut State University, includes a dormitory, administrative, education, vocational, recreational and training buildings, a cafeteria, a child development center, and recreation fields.
Nonresidential Program
New Haven Job Corps offers a nonresidential program for students who live off campus. As a nonresidential student, you can take advantage of many of the activities and benefits offered to those living on campus. Transportation assistance is provided. A nonresidential student lounge and locker area is available in the recreational building.
Child Care Center
New Haven Job Corps is equipped with a child care center that provides comprehensive child development services to infants and toddlers. For information regarding eligibility and child enrollment, please call (203) 397-3775.
Tours
Tours of the New Haven Job Corps Center take place most Thursday mornings at 10:00 AM. Call first to ensure tours will take place.
