CTDOL Labor Situation - September 2020
• September job gains estimated at 17,000
• August jobs increases revised up to 21,900 gains
• Connecticut has so far recovered 60% of jobs lost during the pandemic-related job declines of March and April
• Federal Bureau of Labor Statistics puts unemployment rate at 7.8%, down from 8.2% in August
• CT economists estimate an unemployment rate is closer to 12-13%, down from 14-15% last month when adjusting for survey data problems that skew our unemployment rate low.
